What is Sisu?
When I was little, my family hosted a Finnish exchange student who introduced me to a word I’d never heard before: sisu.
At the time, my family was going through something that required me to be stronger than I felt. In Finland, sisu means more than strength, it’s the quiet, steady determination and resilience that shows up when life feels heavy and the way forward isn’t clear.
Naming that inner strength became an anchor, a hidden superpower.
Motherhood is full of moments that call on your sisu. My role is to help you find yours, trust it, and know you never have to walk this journey alone. You can do this.

I'm a Fellow Mom
My journey to becoming a lactation counselor began through my own breastfeeding experience. Frustrated by the lack of support, I learned how vital compassionate guidance is, and my passion to help other moms was born.
I also designed a stylish, hands-free pumping and nursing bra, functional, flattering, and made to help you latch baby or pump comfortably and confidently. At Sisu Mum, I provide personalized support for nursing, pumping, and encouragement along the way. Together, we’ll reach your breastfeeding goals while honoring your strength, resilience, and sisu.
